Animal Cruelty Rally - 24th September 2017 (Sherry And Diya Foundation)
"We must speak for those who can't speak for themselves".
Today Sherry and Diya Foundation conducted a Rally from Nariman Point to fight against the cruelty of Animals where not only the entire team of our Foundation came to support us but also there was public support who joined us.
In Town we saw that there is cruelty and people just can't stop physically abusing the animals which is the saddest thing. And we therefore further took an action again it. We want everyone to fight against it too.
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it's animals are treated".
So we request everyone to please stop cruelty on animals and make the world a better place for those animals.

Clinical Case Challenge: Acute Weakness in an Adult Street Dog at Lower Parel.
Case Detail :
On presentation, the Dog was mentally dull, extremely weak and exhibited open-mouth breathing. He was unable to stand or support his head in an upright position, and his body condition score was low at 2/5 (normal is 3-3.5/5). Additionally, an elevated heart rate of 120 bpm (normal is 60-90) was noted, while respiratory rate and temperature were within normal limits. Mucous membranes and ocular conjunctiva appeared pale pink. Initial bloodwork revealed multiple abnormalities, including changes consistent with dehydration in the face of anemia (Packed Cell Volume or PCV 25%), hypoproteinemia (total serum protein level 4.0 g/dL), profound hypoglycemia (<20 mg/dL), marked hyperlactatemia (lactate level 18 mmol/L; normal <2 mmol/L), severe metabolic acidosis (pH 7.12; normal 7.35 – 7.45), mildly increased kidney values and mild electrolytes abnormalities. Soon after admission, the alpaca exhibited seizure activity, controlled with administration of diazepam. He was given oral dextrose and administered intranasal oxygen while an IV catheter was being placed. Intravenous fluid therapy was initiated with dextrose and sodium bicarbonate supplementation to address the dangerously low blood sugar and blood pH level.

Countless cats who are left outdoors without protection die from infected wounds and injuries, as even small abscesses and common urinary tract infections can become raging and deadly for unsocialized cats who cannot be handled and treated. Cats outdoors are vulnerable to contagious diseases, parasite infestations, starvation, dehydration, freezing, heatstroke, attacks by dogs and other predators, and being hit by vehicles. Cruel people often poison, shoot, burn, drown, or otherwise torture and kill cats.
